This hogs and crashes my iMac. I really tried to get this to work because I need a BBC streamer.

Sadly this isn't working for me.

I'm deleting this badly written app. It freezes my Dashboard and I get that pesky Adobe security warning (freezes also).

Seems there are mixed results with this widget. For me, it's a Dashboard killer.

Seems to be something broken here. When I try and play a station the progress wheel spins round for a while and then just stops. If I switch to the Finder there is a window in the background with the title "Adobe Flash Player security", and some text in it referring to the widget but with no buttons or indeed any other way of interacting with the dialog. Needless to say I don't get to hear anything either!

Please see the FAQ for details on how to get rid of that annoying Flash "security" dialog:

I agree. I had a hassle with this widget before but was pleased to see a new version and decided to risk another bash at it. However, when I launched it (having tuned to BBC 7), just as with the previous poster, "there was a window in the background with the title "Adobe Flash Player security", and some text in it referring to the widget but with no buttons or indeed any other way of interacting with the dialog. Needless to say I don't get to hear anything either!"

I had to log out to make the damned thing go away.

I went off and got a fresh download of Flash Player but it made not difference.

All in all, half an hour wasted. Very disappointing. Cheers.

Jesus, what a lot of hassle just to listen to a lttle radio player. You must be taking the piss. I'll stick to iPlayer ta very much- unless someone out there knows of a beeb player that actually works?? I miss the wonderful 'Listen Again' BBC widget which the developer sadly gave up on some time back.

Great widget, love the BBC. Since RealPlayer is pretty much dead. I can't see why they can't switch to Flash player or some other streaming audio format (mp3?) built into Quicktime/ Flash. I resent having to install stupid Realplayer just for this.

Finally gets around the Realplayer limitation meaning you can close the Dashboard and continue to listen. Excellent little widget includes all the regional BBC radio stations and a mini browser showing the schedule for the playing station.

I really like this widget. Very quick and very simple. But am I the only one with some trouble? I can't connect to the World Service (I'm in germany, don't know if that matters). It worked this morning, than the stream suddenly stopped. Tried Rebooting but that didn't help. I use v3.4 on an MBPro OS 10.5.6, RealPlayer 10 is installed.

All the other streams work. I can't figure what I'm doing wrong.

Any suggestions?

Working again. OK folks. Don't ask me what i did. I didn't change anything. Was away a few days. Came back and it's working again. Maybe the stream was down for a while? Whatever, thanks for this extremly helpful tool!

Great, but doesn't work with Leopard. When hiding dashboard the music stops.

If you get audio dropouts, please see the note about using RealPlayer 10 instead of 11. Or consider using the widget on the desktop in Dashboard developer mode. Thanks.

I'm quite pleased with this widget.
Plenty of stations, both national, regional and local.
A tad slow when changing the stations, but it might have to do with connecting servers.
I can live with it though.

It would also be nice if we could change the stations from the widgets front and maybe a quick pick of a few favorite stations.

I'm also hoping for a widget for RTE ;-)

Nice work Hawkman, thanks.
