Memoir is a personal journal application for Mac OS X 10.5 or higher. It features a clean, intuitive interface, live search, 128-bit encryption, import and export, as well as other unique features such as wiki-links and inter-entyr linking.
What's New
Version 2.0:
A comprehensive overhaul of Memoir. In addition to a major redesign of almost everything, the price of Memoir has been cut from $14.99 to just $7.99. If you have feedback, please visit our user forums!
Admittly I am viewing this page on the tiny screen of an iPod but no matter how much I zoom in or out I do not see a "details" button as referenced in the last paragraph - "Click the details button below for more information and screenshots."
On the Dev website there are 4 very nice screenshots. I see that they have a second app "Dossier". Both of these appear to have been recently upgraded after a period of inactivity, and have a new blog in place. Both also seem reasonably priced, but seem so similar that it is not clear (to me at least) what the primary differences are in the usage of these two apps, and if they are designed to serve the same purpose from different perspectives; or is one intended to serve a different function .
This application's feature set is poorly implemented.
There are certainly numerous far far better applications of this sort.
I suggest that peeps take a peep at Circus Ponies Notebook, Together or Xpad for instance.
1. Limited to one notebook (or one database)
2. Cannot designate where to save the notebook (a la Yojimbo, for example).
3. Stores some data as rtfd files, and some data in SQLite format (can you say "BLOB"?)
4. How is this different than Mori, except the price?
5. Not very intuitive to "import"...drag and drop works (sometimes), whereas clicking on "Import" or selecting it from the menu does not work.
6. When importing works, the image is auto-sized.
