Booklet CE is an InDesign CS3 script that helps you to prepare booklets and newsletters for printing.
Three imposition types are supported: saddle stitch, consecutive, and perfect bound.
Booklet CE has particularly flexible printer mark options.
What's New
Version 3.5: Better support for metric measurements
Version 3.4: More flexibility in number of pages for Consecutive printing
Version 3.3: New UI, and progress bar, for Booklet CE for ID CS3
Ability to run Booklet CE for ID CS3 from the File menu
Great! More features, more options, more control! Some, if not all of this, may in fact be superseded by the new CS3, but for those of us who don't want to hand over yet more money to Adobe, this is one you can't go past.
The one thing I don't get is what's with the $10 price tag here on MacUpdate? There is no mention of any money needing to change hands at the dev's site, and when i ran a (single) test with the freshly downloaded script, there was no request from the dev to do so, or any apparent disability to the script ...?
what can i say i haven't said before ...? it's still great stuff!
and for those who have trouble with the download link here like i do, just hit 'more information' to go to the dev's page and then select 'products' for the latest download - don't know why macupdate don't fix that niggly problem ...
this really is an amazing help for creating printable pdfs and arranging them in the right order!!!
This is the kind of Software you usually pay hundreds of dollars for. Amazing and thanks a lot that it is free.
Adobe should really consider hiring this guy and implementing this feature as a standard.
and for those who have trouble with the download link here (which inexplicably sent me to the previous version on macupdate), just hit 'more information' and download direct from the dev's page (once there, select 'products' for the latest download)
I've just realized an important limitation of the current (1.0) version. First, it expects not-facing-pages input. This works ok for the most part, but doesn't allow the user to easily make an image overlap 2 pages while designing. (InBooklet SE doesn't do it correctly, either.)
I'm working on a new version that _expects_ the input to be a standard facing-pages document. Not a simple change, as it turns out...
Download does not work for either of their products.
On their own web page there is
not downloading,
no links on their resources page,
no pricing of their products and
you can not access their blog/up-date site.
I would fix this ASAP, since it does not build trust.
I would also work on the text and layout further
to make an advanced professional appearance.
Pity, I wanted to test interesting their products.
Thank you much for your comments -- I believe that the issues you raise have now mostly been fixed, though I don't claim that our web site is fully mature :-) The user guides are expanded, and the download options now use mountable volumes. Please feel free to email if you have further difficulties.
