ChemSpotlight is a Spotlight metadata importer plug-in that reads common chemical file formats (MDL .mol, .mdl, .sd, .sdf, Tripos .mol2, Protein Data Bank .pdb, Chemical Markup Language .cml, and XYZ). It indexes chemistry files, adds molecular formulas (complete with subscripts in the Finder), molecular weight, and a variety of other information for Spotlight searches and Finder "Get Info" windows. It also adds QuickLook preview of many chemistry formats in 2D and 3D where appropriate.

- Major feature release. Compatible with 64-bit Mac OS X 10.6, and now includes QuickLook preview for many common chemistry files, including 2D and 3D live interactions.
