Hypnos (was Berceuse/iTunesShut) can shut down, sleep or restart your Mac or pause/quit iTunes, if the playlist has finished.
Shut down, sleep or restart your Mac or pause/quit iTunes, if a given number of songs are played or repeated. Performs the actions after a given time (duration in minutes) has elapsed (=timer). Fade-Out the volume of iTunes automatically and tell Hypnos, if it should quit automatically after it has done its job, or not.
What's New
Version 5.1.4:
Bug-fix: Hypnos behaved not as expected when Time Machine was running.
Really like this! Especially with the remote function.
One small thing that bothers me sometimes is that it auto-launches itunes when you open it. I sometimes use this just to sleep/shutdown my mac while I have pandora or last.fm streaming, and I'm not actually using itunes.
It would be nice to have an option in the preferences to turn off auto-launch for itunes.
Works as described. The developer was thinking about making it a widget - please don't wast your time as everyone would use the "Quit automatically" option which doesn't suit a widget. I wish the developer would create a sister application which would be able to quit any application after a certain amount of time. This would be especially useful for quitting VLC and the likes when listening to internet radio that iTunes doesn't support. Many, many thanks.
With iTunesShut 4.8 you can use your own AppleScripts. That means, that you can use a simple line of AppleScript code to quit any application you wish.
Open AppleScript Editor and type for example: tell application "VLC" to quit
Then in iTunesShut choose "AppleScript" from the pop-up button and then choose your script.
Yes, but you will need a script for every application on your computer. With App QuitTimer you can quit any application - instead of having multiple scripts.
