Works great but I had to delete my preferences on one of my computers to get it to work.

Great app when you are working at one computer and your itunes are on another.

Still works fine so far on iTunes 10.3.1 (55), on the most recent version of Snow Leopard!

even it's an old application, it works on Intel 2.4Ghz 10.6.6 controlling a iMacG3 on 10.4.x with errors like "-1000 AppleEvent handler failed." after each action..
and if a stream on the remote controlled mac hangs.. there is no other option than to cancel the "connecting" window on that machine itself..
it's a pitty you have to login every time again.

it would be perfect if it was able to live in the menubar.
and if styled, it could be like the genius Remote.app for Mac to Mac.. i would give a buck for that!

Does not work, always the same error:

-927 iTunes got an error: Unable to authenticate user.

Finally, got it to work by trashing the prefs several times.
But just for once, now it's showing that annoying error
again and I'm fed up with it.

Thanks for pointing that out, it looks like the developer changed the link at some point. We've fixed it.

There's a similar app out there that has an interface that looks exactly like iTunes (thus, zero learning curve).

Does anyone know what the name of that program is?

The software nettunes is remote controlling over a network, with either a full copy of the itunes GUI, or just a little three-button interface.

Learning curve? This thing is so easy to use, there is no learning curve - or at least it is not steep. ;-)

Very nice app. Big thanks to the developer.

Great app! Thanks for making this work with 10.3.9.

Not sure why but if I search for (itrc) on MacUpdate it comes up with XShuffler 1.1 ?

Sounds like you didn't turn on remote apple events on the computer iTunes runs on.

That is on, on both machines. I also use VNC with no problems.

Very nice little app. I used to have a little shell script for doing just what this does but this is even nicer :) Now you need growl support and that sort of fancy things ;D so you get 4 for features just cause there is always place for more.

Honestly the interface could be polished, but heh the joy of osx, I did myself hehe
here's my "improved" (to my tastes at least) UI. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g288/xsmurf_photosster/iTRC.png

It is definitely not as small, but I like it better that way

Great job on the interface!

1.4 will have a worked over UI that borrows heavily from the above while being more compact.

A dynamite app! Why hasn't anyone thought of this sooner? My eMac is in charge of pumping out my music through an iMic to my stereo, and being able to work with iTunes remotely with this is extremely ideal.

And yes, I like the "useless" progress bar, hehe.

Two requests, if I may? Make the progress bar a lil' more appealing to the eye, and please be able to parse stream info., then I'd be so set, it's unbelievable!

Someone did think of this before: iHam on iRye. I haven't used this remote control program, so I won't compare their functionality, etc. But it's been done...

Although I have not used iHoR, it seems another one of those programs that require a client & server app to be running. What's great about iTRC is that it works on it's own.

Not sure what other features iHoR might have as it seems to no longer be developed.

There are a few other iTunes remote apps out there as well, but again require client server apps, or all sorts of time consuming database synchs, or unweildly interfaces etc.

I like iTRC because it's small and it just works out fo the box.
