MultiAlarm is an audible alarm software solution that sounds whenever you activate it and move your Apple Laptop with a SMS sensor or Use the mouse or keyboard.
The project is no longer supported or actively developed.
What's New
Version 3.4.2:
Added Alert Delay option
Added alarm reset for SMS sensors
Added security levels to Screen-Lock
Added MultiAlarm daemon to lock user out on reboot
Fixed iTunes bug
Fixed scripting bugs with remote scripts
Fixed major bug in Screen-Lock that caused expose to lose binds
I am writing this cooment with my computer allegedly protected by MultiAlarm. Though one cannot see the desktop or click objects in the dock with the application armed, the Spotlight search in the toolbar is completely functional, and can be used to open up a finder window and launch applications, as well as searching one's hard drives. The FTP upload of iSight images does not work for me either.
There is a few security holes that are being worked on still, we have tried to secure as much as we can without be intrusive, we are also limited in the current language of MultiAlarm and are planning to recode the project to a much more powerful language.
A update will be released soon to fix many bugs such as the ftp upload
Any remote applications that support the use of AppleScript will support MultiAlarm, if you need help in making the remote software talk to MultiAlarm please contact support and we will try our best.
Everything seems to work great, but the ftp doesn't seem to work. I tried manually connecting and uploading to the right place and it worked, but via MultiAlarm 3.4.1 it doesn't. The idea is great, and except for this, it seems to work perfectly.
Could you explain the "false alarms" some settings like sensitivity and use of the NonSMS Sensor can cause false readings and most errors like this are results from bad configurations and can be easily fixed by contacting support.
PS. A improvment that will hopefully come is a easier configuration
People could you please use the support system or try reading the readme files before posting on here.
With the password system it is NOT your login MultiAlarm uses its own so you need to set it in preferences like the read me says so go through and ensure all settings are set correctly
And once again PLEASE use the support system before posting a comment
Had the same password problems, and when the system finally confirmed that it 'armed' it did not detect gross movement that had set off alarms with previous versions. Did not want to 'unarm' despite being given correct password. Removed the app, and the associated Keychain entry until things shake out.
Short: not my fav release.
HI, it keeps on giving me an error while setting up the keychain password! i am accessing my mchien as adminstrator and i am 100% sure i am using the right password, it keeps on saying password in correct!
I installed it on my Powerbook with SMS and at first it didn't work (I used the "highres" version) but when I swapped it out for the iBook version, things worked fine.
Perhaps its because im on a 12" Powerbook. I dont know.
