FlashMount is a small utility to mount disc images at a much faster rate than Apple's Disk Image Mounter in OSX. No more waiting, your images mount almost instantly.
Caution: For the sake of speed, FlashMount will automatically accept any embedded End User License Agreements that would normally be displayed.
By using this software, you automatically agree to any of EULA's that would have been displayed.
What's New
Version 1.5.2:
Fixed multiple disk image support
Universal Binary
Requirements
PPC / Intel, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.
FlashMount is great, but when DMG's are downloaded from Safari FlashMount doesn't not automount the DMG. It would be great if FM were updated to work around this issue.
Works perfectly for 95% of disk images and is so much more convenient than Apple's built in utility. The only time I have issue is when I use password protected DMG files. Flashmount just launches and doesn't display any errors or information, yet won't mount the image.
I run a blog about Mac freeware (http://freewaremac.net) and this utility is like heaven to me. I just love it and it's my default app for DMGs since ver 1.5.
I've been using this for several days now, it speeds my workflow (I have to open a *lot* of .dmgs every day here at MacUpdate, many have those pesky EULAs), never had any issues with it. I know about the other similar utils and have used them too, but I like this one best.
I'm surprised there's no comments about it already, but there was a small bug that popped up due to a problem with XCode, that prevented FlashMount from opening double-clicked files. I uploaded the fixed version, so anyone with any troubles, just re-download and you'll be fine.
Very fast! Nice job. Would be nice to have an installer instead of manually changing the Info.plist or adding to login items. Apart from that it's very good value, thanks!
Does not open every DMG that I tried (I guess it's a problem with the EULA windows) and does not work when one drags multiple files to it (only one is mounted).
Ol'good Mount works well and has more configurable options.
Well, I'm still confused as to how I am supposed to use this in the backround (so it does not appear in my dock). I read the the 'Read Me' but I don't understand how to open .plists
But other than a little more specification in your 'Read Me', thumbs up.

It's calling a script that calls hdid that calls hdiutil that uses the DI framework to mount the image...
It would be even faster if all this was reduced to 1 step :)
