Pros: Cross Platform, IMDb Integration, Lightweight
Cons: Crashes occasionally

This is my first Movie Organizing software, I felt I needed it as my library kept growing and I needed something to catalogue my files so when in need I can perform a search on specific items I would like to watch. MovieFinder does just that for me and allows me to organize my files the way I want yet keeping it neat for retrieval and searches in its library. I thank the developers for providing it for free and I hope development continues.

Wow, it's super expensive and doesn't even look like a native mac app (yes I know it's a java app)
There are much better alternatives out there.

i've checked out several of the most popular dvd cataloguing programs(delicous library, movie collector, movie database) and quite frankly, moviefinder is the only one that sticks out (i like the interface too!). the others all more or less do the same thing, but they feel so cluttered! you can put so much crap in the library that you can't or don't want to find what you're really looking for.

this one is clean...and it looks up the movies smoother than the others. what's really awesome is its genre searching capability, it really shows you what movies you have in the most efficient manner possible. plus it keeps track of your current favorites. right about here i was on the fence if i was going to buy it or not, and i checked out the support site. this one guy made it all by himself and he's totally devoted to support. i sent an email and he replied that afternoon, politely pointing out that my question was already covered on his site...then i stumble upon upcoming features (hi-res pic downloads, .csv exports) and that was it. i bought it right then and there for about the cost of one dvd. well worth it, you won't regret it!

You might want to check out DVDpedia - it's unrivaled IMO.

Try DVD PEDIA! I have over 3,500 movies and it stores them all. It also has the ability to turm a camera into a barcode scanner. It's just as cheap! and is connected to Amazon.com and IMDB for content reviews hidden features etc.
Great App!
