Alarm Clock is a menu item alarm clock for setting either one-time alarms or repeating alarms. Then choose anything in the iTunes library to wake to: songs, playlists, even podcasts. The application takes care of the rest, even waking the computer from sleep if needed.

You can configure your snooze duration to the length you want. You can even increase/decrease your snooze time right from the alarm window. Plus, if you have an apple remote, you can even hit snooze without getting out of bed. And if waking up to blaring alarms in the morning isn't your cup of tea, there's an

New download link doesn't work. Found the app here, (http://download.cnet.com/Alarm-Clock/3000-2094_4-10499160.html?tag=mncol;2) but it's just a text file. Did something change with Lion?

Codimmons: no, someone messed up when they made this file available for download. Just save the file as you receive it (save the web page which displays the downloaded text), but remove ".txt" from the end of the file name, retaining the ".dmg", and it will mount properly when you double-click on the disk image.

I loved this app until it stopped allowing me to select a tune from my library to be woken up by. (The window where the songs use to be is empty). I tried reinstalling and that didn't work. I couldn't find any preferences for it to trash.

It is now working. I fixed it some how. That being said I give it a 5 star rating.

I've been using this for years. You can't get much better than this for donation-ware. It's better than basic, and very convenient. It also hasn't been updated in a very long time, probably because it works just fine even in Lion. It simply does everything I need simply.

Why can't I add music to the playlist or select a source?

Ah I works well now. I now give it 4.5*
Would be nice to drag and drop tracks and search for them without using itunes but doesn't matter.

this is still the best timer/alarm clock app, even though it hasn't been updated in 4 years! but since it's free, the developer should open-source it so others can update it.

Very nice. Has an "egg timer", alarm clock and stop watch. I had Apimac Timer and the interface was not what I wanted. Alarm Clock sits up in the menu bar but also creates a nice window if you like. I give it two thumbs up!

Thought I finally found the perfect SIMPLE to use Alarm Clock with an optional Timer. But to my great dismay I've found that it only does audio alarms, no option for dialog boxes to come up.

So I'm sticking with InerziaTimer which has an ugly as hell user interface and has less options, but at least has the option for dialog box to come up.

Bummer.

I love this app, but I'm having trouble with using iTunes music. The app will only play the standard beep alarm rather than a song I've selected. Also, my playlists won't update so I cannot choose one of them. This was by far the best alarm clock for mac. If the developer was still around, I would donate.

Lately I've noticed that when I quit Alarm Clock my computer still wakes at the time for which Alarm Clock had been set - and the computer will not sleep on its own after this.

unfortunately it cannot play sound if you don't have an active session. i have my screensaver activate the fast-user-switch login window for added security and when i log back in the morning, i see alarm clock is open, but it never made a peep, because it apparently cannot grab the speaker.

If you want to lock the screen for security, you should try my Utility Lock which was intended for this purpose.

It is very customisable *dont mix it with the Apple Lock however* and quite secure.

PS. This is not to advertise my program, but more of to help a fellow user of this great alarm program
