I have been using this off and on for several years

It is great for "standard" stuff like INT and VARCHAR, but BEWARE using it for BLOB and TEXT types!

I used it to add some images to a database in BLOB format. It hex-encoded the data in the BLOB field for some strange reason, which itself wasn't any great loss, but what makes it totally unacceptable is that it also hex-encoded all the TEXT fields in the same record! This is BAD NEWS!

Luckily, I discovered this before it went very far, and I found a Service that translated hex-encoded text back to ASCII, and fixed the fields that CocoaMySQL broke.

For those who want a freeware MySQL client that will not corrupt TEXT and BLOB fields, I recomment YourSQL, which has served me well in such an application.

My new favourite native MySQL client is Sequel Pro -- five stars, and doesn't corrupt BLOBs!

I've been using this for a few weeks and found it was only stable when connecting to a local server - remote mysql would disconnect regularly without periods of inactivity. I've gone back to the non-SGB version.

thanks to the developers. I love using this app, but am sad to see that it now does not launch (crash on launch) under 10.4.7. I'm using version CocoaMySQL-SBG 0.7.1

the message i get in the console when I try to launch is:
2006-07-21 16:03:09.441 CocoaMySQL-SBG[5429] Unable to load nib file: MainMenu, exiting

To bad, but any version above 0.5.x seems to have serious memory leaks. Showing or sorting tables with over 1000 entries per table ended up using over 2 GB of RAM on a dual G5/1.8 OSX Tiger 10.4.4. I tried now all releases of 0.6.x and 0.7.x and all of them behave the same. So better stay with 0.5 :(

As the only universal sql utility it gets high points for stepping in to fill a gap. I needed a tool other then phpMysql to do fast edits on my webservers mySQL databases. Worked great.... and is blazingly fast on my Macbook Pro.

Hi, I am trying to install Bluefish on my Macbook.. But I dont see good documentation... The instructions on the Bluefish web site said "fink install bluefish." .. I installed fink... But have no clue how to install bluefish.. Can you send me any documentation which would ease the installation. Please reply at b_bhuvan@encs.concordia.ca
