Caller ID utility. See who's calling before you pick up the phone. Integrates to address book to show name of caller, falls back to built-in list of UK area codes to show area (or mobile network) where call comes from.
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.4 or later and a modem that supports Caller ID.
I initially said it works but it doesn't actually work reliably. Sometimes it shows the caller ID but most of the time it just shows "ring" "ring" "ring" with no info at all. It also causes problems with the fax modem.
I'm really surprised Apple doesn't have this built into their Address Book.
Fantastic little program!! Works in New Zealand which is great. Tried Silica 1.2 but it didn't work. As the previous comment says, still early days but heaps of potential I think.
I get an 'OK' message when I choose my internal modem on my iBook G4 and when I call my number from my mobile I get Ring... Ring...Ring but no call gets listed??
I am subscribed to BT caller display on my landline and it works with my phone but not with the software. Any ideas?
