With WOL command line you can 'wake up' your pc simply by sending a 'magic packet' over the network. For this I have ported wol.c written by R. Edwards to NetWare, Win32, OS X and OS/2; changed parameter parsing, added file input so that you can wake up a group of machines from cron; added switch for delay between sending packets; added switch for broadcast address to make directed broadcasts.
Finally! I have been waiting for a command line version of WakeOnLan forever! I have a lot of shell scripts that I've written for my personal use that could use this directly included in my scripts, instead of having to use AppleScript to script a GUI app like the original GUI WakeOnLan for Mac. Now I can wake my G5 from my Mac mini server to sync them. Simply awesome. Thank you so much!
