So bottom line FormulatePro isn't being actively developed that I can find. Which is sad as this is a great little app. Price makes it a wonderful app. But it's version of .06 means that was left in beta stage, but it still works (mostly). It saved my bacon in filling out a non-fillable PDF today so that I didn't have to fight with a type writer or a pen.

You can place text boxes, expand to the size you need. If you're creative you can even line up lines with your text. You can change fonts, use checks or X's for check boxes. Import images for things a signature. Then to export you just use the Mac internal Print/PDF feature.

Though abandoned v0.6 worked fine for me in Mavericks without any issues. I've never had a crash of any kind.

I just installed this and cannot figure out how to overwrite text on my PDF form?? The little drop down box shows how to add text boxes, write on the document, etc. Yet, I cannot find any information on basic form filling. Can someone please help?? This is driving me crazy!

It'd be helpful if MacUpdate allowed attachments,so you'd be able to let me actually see what you are trying to do,Julie.

This software was obscure and hard to locate. The usual search tags of annotate pdf etc. did not bring this up. Developer may want to revise the description. An MU search for edit pdf and then clicking thru results brought this little gem of a software up. Am very happy it did.

FormulatePRO does exactly what is needed to fill in the forms - such a government or other formal / paper based interafaces that we all need to do, thankfully only once in a while.

FormulatePRO can do with a little UI work or at a minimum a tutorial on YouTube - but does what is needed - add text (like filling up a form), affix signature, add an image to the form, annotate.

If it is missing a key feature - it is the ability to highlight in different colors.
An ability to strike though would also be valuable.
An ability to change the check mark - to a tick mark rather an X mark would also be helpful.

Overall, this is VERY useful and purposeful software. Thanks to the dev for making it available to all. Best.

The best feature is missing from the description: You can place an image on top of the pdf as well as text. This mean you can scan in your signature or other drawings of interest.

The Export PDF function seems broken, but instructions are given for the standard OS X way so it's certainly possible,

How do you "replace text" with this software?? I can't figure out how to simply fill out the form and it's driving me crazy! The drop down menus show how to create text boxes, etc. but not replacing text. Nothing happens when i hover over the existing text. What am I doing wrong?

Background is printing in black and text is white, just the opposite of what it should be and what is showing on the screen.

This is the best utility I have found for filling out paper forms with a Mac. Just scan the paper using Image Capture/Preview, then save the jpeg image as a pdf, and open the pdf in FormulatePro and add text fields. You may have to play with the paper size. In order to fill a 7 in. x 3.5 in. card, I had to create a custom paper size that was 3.5 in x 7 in. (i.e., rotated), and then print from formulate in _landscape_ orientation. Othewise, however, very simple to use.
