This still sucks. Apple really screwed up when they went from v5.6 to v6.x. They dumbed-down the program (trying to make it more iOS-like) and removed features that I need to use.

New version of AirPort Utility 5.6.1 launcher for Mavericks.

This version doesn't require the modification of the AirPort Utility itself. It is a stand-alone app that will launch AirPort Utility 5.6.1.

I included a short Read Me file that explains it.

Sir, will this also work for Mountain Lion?

No offense, but this is a horrible downloading site.

FYI to anyone, I installed on ML and it appears to work fine. If you use the putlocker link above, I recommend you do what I did. Use a Virtual Machine, save a snapshot, access the site and download, revert back to the snapshot. Why? These kind of 'free to store' sites are full of false links, ads, 'possible' viruses and back doors, the risk of clicking on the wrong link and downloading something 'else' possibly dangerous is high, even if you are careful. USe a VM, get in, get out, erase all traces.

I say this with no disrespect to the uploader, I understand if you are trying to post something for public download, it comes with the territory in terms of finding a free host, so he is not to blame and we are all grateful for his work and providing this fix (Thanks @MacOSX4ever ! )

Sophos Ant-virus blocked access to site due to malware found there!

I found a way to make 6.3 work with older TimeCapsules: switching on IPv6 in: Preferences - Network - advanced - TCP/IP - configure IPv6, then set it to "Link-local only".
Apparently 6.3 communicates with the TC via IPv6.

Verified. IPv6 does the trick.

Verified also with configuring IPv6 to Link-Local Only.

And the new 6.3.1 update also fixes it.

Many users have found their AirPort Express or Extreme Base Stations are no longer recognized after updating from version 6.2 of the Airport Utility. Do not update to this version until Apple deals with the bug reports and fixes the issue!

Unfortunately, I am also one of the "victims" of this update. I can still connect to my AEBS via IP address.

The iOS version of Airport Utility still works. My AEBS shows up immediately.

So am I. My 3rd Gen Airport Extreme is no longer recognized.

I'm affected, too. Using the File>Configure Other menu and enter the AirPort's IP address and password works.

Same problem here

I replaced the new version by the previous one (6.2) from my Time Machine backup and it's working as before :-)

the easiest way to work around this bug is to recover the previous version 6.2 from the Timemachine backup - did that, works perfectly. Shame on Apple for not fixing this obvious bug quickly.

Three cheers for Time Machine. Hopefully we'll see 6.3.1 soon.

Has the very-useful ability to rename connected USB printer(s) been taken away? I no longer can find the "Printers" tab, and thus no longer have control over naming attached printer(s).

It sucks to have several identical printers connected to a Airport Extreme or Express (USB hubs are fully supported) and be unable to instantly identify which printer is which from a client machine.

Looks like Apple's routers now supports WPS. But I understand that WPS is a security nightmare. Can one turn off WPS (like most other routers) using Airport Utility?

I agree... Apple seems to be doing this across the board with OS X. However, I've found that in most cases, including with the AirPort Utility, the same options are there--- they've just hidden them under control-clicks, etc.--Really stupid since it makes the programs much less user friendly.

I'm glad to still see apple supporting my 2nd Generation airport extreme. I have 80211n with Gigabyte ethernet, and i have 5Ghz compatibility, I just lack the dual band support. Anyway today airport utility 6.2 installed without problems on my white macbook, running Lion, and airport firmware version 7.6.3 installed without problems on my base station. Seems like i'm back up and running without any trouble.

Updates Airport express and airport extreme base stations but with time capsule it repeatedly asks for the password over and over after several minutes

Just worked for me. There may also be a firmware update available for your Time Capsule itself; I applied that separately using APU 5.6.

My bad! My 1Tb Time capsule chose the exact moment that I went to update it to have a hard drive failure. All is good!
