iSquint is an iPod video conversion app for Mac OS X. It's many times faster than QuickTime Pro, works with almost all popular video formats, and it's infinitely free-er. It's also really easy. Just drag in your file, and click Start. You can also choose "TV" or "iPod" size, set your quality, or even go all-out by playing in the Advanced drawer.

What's New
Version 1.5.2:
- Certain types of files converted to plain MPEG-4 no longer show up without video in QuickTime Player 7.4 and higher.
- iSquint now includes a program droplet called "Debreaker" to repair damaged "no video" .mp4 files created by earlier versions of iSquint.
- Tiny files that finish ridiculously quickly are no longer assumed to be errors.

It can take a while to complete a file conversion - but likely it will take that long with any converter. It will occasionally crash during a conversion, which can be frustrating when they take a while to complete - but video is always a pain and will cause even the most professional program to crash every once in a while.
In short, I would love it if the developer came back to the project. But if not: thanks anyway! You've done a wonderful job, and made my (and I'm sure many others) life much easier.

Weird.
I've used the past version of this app to convert vids with no problems for my iPod touch.

AppleScript Error
"defaults write com.techspansion.isquint seenvh 1" doesn't understand the message. (-1708)
However, I began having problems with other things on my system (e.g., dmg files not showing up on 'devices' menu when opened, and inability to wake from sleep). So, I did an Archive and Reinstall of Leopard.
Now, iSquint starts up with no problem, though I haven't run it through its paces.

Every video I run through this program undeniably gets higher contrast.
Don't get me wrong, I used this app since the day it came out, and don't plan to stop soon either, but I never noticed it before... anyone have any ideas?

I recreated the entire file path and filename setup you had without problems using a copy of iSquint I downloaded right before I replied to your first message.
...even still, that error came up for you at the end of the process. The file created should still be valid.
