Does not work with PSP firmware 3.30.
The PSP says the file produced is unplayable or not supported.
Please fix this!

Whats wrong with everyone? Just use FFMPEG FFS, support the developer, it has a PSP Mode, and it's H.264 encoding is both superb and quick!

Thanks Gary. Our product is primarily for converting QuickTime content, and there are plenty of test cases where ffmpegX does not deliver good results. Since all the OpenSource tools use the same basic plumbing, they all have the same bugs. Also, there is no question that the Apple AAC encoder is vastly superior to the open source one. After all, it is an iPod, right?

But at the same time, for ripping DVDs etc. ffmpegX is clearly a better choice. Or Handbrake.

FFMPEG's PSP conversion doesn't work anyway. At least not with PSP firmware 2.8.

Ripped "Complicated" music vid from Avril Lavigne "Let Go" (enhanced disc). Used 1_avi.avi from the disc. Worked great. Currently converting "He Wasn't" music video from CD single.

This works well if you select H.264 format, albeit excruciatingly slowly, but I find that it does a terrible job if I use MPEG4 format, even at the high quality option. I get a bad pulsing effect in the resulting videos. Anyone else seeing this? I wish the MPEG4 format worked well (and it can, as shown by iSquint - unfortunately I find that iSquint gives horrendous audio quality, so it's useless.) At least I can use H.264 format with this and get good video and audio quality, but it does take an insanely long period of time to convert even a 30 minute video using H.264.

I'm getting the pulsing too on some videos.

Please file a bug report with Apple regarding the pulsing for the MPEG-4 exporter:

"Movie to MPEG-4"

This is the exporter we are calling that generates the pulsing.

Movie For Podcast does not seem to have this problem, although it also encodes MPEG-4 SP video.

Pulsing video is now fixed. So many new and requested features in 1.01 I can't even describe it!

Check it out.

From the developer:

"A popular question for technical support is 'my movie has no sound - help!'.

If your source movie file is an MPEG-1 file (.mpg file extension), first create a QuickTime movie using MPEG Streamclip (free), and then convert with MoviesForMyPod. Or, try using Podner ($10).

If your source movie file is a DivX AVI file, try running the file through DiVX Doctor before processing with MoviesForMyPod.

If your file is not one of these formats, please contact technical support."
