Widget Television offers over 200 channels of broadband streaming video available on this newest version. It has easier channel selection with selected channel layering, faster stream grabs for all channels, 9 different classes of channels, improved programming and global channel selection. It offers channel catagories such as Music, News, Government, Public Access, Educational, Movies, Religion, General, and Sports.

Please note that you must have the required video players installed before you install the Widget Television to avoid issues with the streams.

Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.4.1 or later, broadband internet connection, QuickTime 6.2 or later, RealPlayer, and Media Player 9 installed.

I like vf3, but the only channels that work on my vf3 are the QuickTime channels. Does anyone know why I can't get the other channels? Am I doing something wrong?

Please stop changing your widget name.
First it was: VF1, later it was, CHOICE, now it's VF3.
But It's a super cool widget, and i use it every day!

Excellent. It works for me with 10.2.4 and all three players installed. Some slow feeds, not relevant to the player. How sweet it is to be watching Larry, Moe and Curly on my 12' G3 iBook in Japan! When Chuck Grieves comes thruough Tsukuba Japan I'll be pleased to take him out for yaki-tori and sake. Arigato!

Please be aware that you will need to have installed the three media players before you install the widget to avoid issues. This is the number one issue I find in the hundreds of emails I have received.

I realize this is not your normal type of widget, as I am sure you do as well. The differences are many, but it is those differences that help to place this particular widget in a class by itself. The security features alone make this widget extremely unique and the virtual means used to load the program into memory only helps to prove its uniqueness.

Apple's guidelines for making widgets are just that; guidelines. I can't help but to experiment with finding what I think might be a better design, a better security feature, a better means of updating.... I won't apologize for not following the rules and I won't stop experimenting. Apple is "Apple" because of its unique ideas in the world of computing. Maybe the Widget Televison is also unique in this way. Time will tell.

But until then, thanks for watching and enjoy....

this widget is not X like at all... is a perfect example of pure bad taste. Please CHANGE all the pictures of your great (and useful) code.

What is "X" like? Let us say that you like oranges very much. But then, we should also consider the apple. Does it not fullfill the same requirements as the orange that you are so fond of? Is it not satisfying? Does it not give answer to your need for hunger? Does it not give the same enjoyment or is it different simply because of its outside appearance and therefore less than the orange? You hate it, he likes it. When comparing apples to oranges, you might as well think that one man's trash, is another man's gold. I am sorry that the mere site of this widget disgusts you so. But the interesting thing to me is, is that you continue to use it at all. Experimenting with different flavors can be as exciting as living with the old. Especially when they are free. I am experimenting with a newer, more "X" like appearance for a future release.

WHOA! This one is too cool. Even on a cr*ppy wifi connection, it gave me watchable movies and concerts. Really great. Thank you.

Love this widget and the visual look. I like to watch the old b/w films available and I think the wooden frame gives a certain retro meets modern technology feel to the whole visual experience. Great widget and I think the developer has the right to air his opinions. If you do not like it the don't use or write your own version (let's see how many people knocking this widget could do that!)

FYIW, I happen to like the retro look of the wooden frame.
It reminds me about the TV sets I saw as a kid back in the 50's.

As has been said before... it's free, deal with it, or if you can't either hack it to your own choosing.

This developer sounds pretty full of himself.

I'm glad I don't require this widget's functionality for my system, so I don't have to endure his aesthetic choices and his accompanying attitude,...

Full of myself? From what I said, how did you gather that? I have worked on this thing for hours and hours and every weekend over the last few months, all for free. Excuse me if I feel I have something to say about the unhelpful way that it is attacked. I can take criticism extremely well, as long as it's not in the form of an attack. If you want changes, say so in a more specific way, and use a little common sense. I don't mind making changes for what most of you want, but give me a break will ya. Full of myself? I just don't see where that came from.

To add to my problem, I discovered that i have no sound with windows media player 9 too... In case you wonder, iTunes still works perfectly, as Quicktime ...

When I try to open a mp3 file with QuickTime, I can hear it. When I try to open the same mp3 file with realPlayer, i have the following error message : "cannot open the audio device. Another application may be using it"...

What can I do to fix that problem ? Once again I started to have my problems when I strated to use vf3...

I have had the same problems. All of a sudden, there is no sound with Windows Media Player 9 and real player. I have reimaged my computer with no success.

I think I clicked on the "off" text at the bottom of the widget and since then i have no more sound for RealPlayer. I deleted Realplayer and reinstalled it, i threw away its preference file, I erased vf1 and vf3 widget but unhappily, still no sound on realplayer (I am sure it was OK before my use of your widget)...
