Droffett is a drop application which "flattens" a folder, i.e. moves (or aliases) all files which are descendants of it so that they are directly inside it. (See accompanying screenshot for illustration.)
Droffett can also be used to collate a folder of files by extension. This process will place all files with the same extension into a folder named after that extension. Specify this option using the Preferences window.

- By popular demand, the option to delete "emptied" folders has been reinstated to Preferences. The preference value is specified using the checkbox labeled "Delete Emptied Folders" and is OFF by default.

It doesn't do much, but the job it does, it does very well.
Its easily worth the donation - plus you get all the other utilities as well.

I'm thinking of appending something to a duplicate name (before any extension) to make it unique, so that the two files may reside in the same place.
