Use built-in modem as speaker phone to listen while on hold.

Hold On does one thing: It picks up and hangs up the phone line. The interfaces is a simple small window with a toggle button. That's it.

Very cool! I've been looking for something exactly like this to record voicemails (using an audio capture application like WireTap).

Unfortunately, I'm not hearing anything when I pick up the line. I think this is a system-wide problem, as I don't hear anything when I dial-up using Internet Connect, even though I've set Sound to On in the Modem pane of Network Preferences.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I believe there is a problem with USB output sound devices, but I don't know what it is.

I discovered that if I have my iMic plugged into the USB port, my sound settings didnt' matter: sound went to these honking headphones connected to the iMic. Macs have always been wonky about sound output in my experience.

In this latest version, check the system log to see if Hold On is successfully initting, picking up, and hanging up the modem. if it is it is definitely a sound output conflict.

i'm sure it's pickup properly because the display on my other phone says extension in use when i pick up with Hold On 0.6.

i'm not using any USB sound output devices, though..

I can't get it to work either. I turned on the modem sound and nothing.
