Easy Bake Icon can make an icon with multiple sizes from any image that Image Events can handle: BMP, GIF, JPEG, JPEG2, MacPaint, PDF, Photoshop, PICT, PNG, PSD, QuickTime Image, SGI, Text, TGA, TIFF.

Easy Bake Icon uses tools built right into the Mac OS (Tiger tested only). After dragging image(s) onto the droplet, Image Events makes different sized tiff images from your original. Next it merges them together with the tiffutil unix command. Then it makes that tiff file into an icon with the tiff2icns Unix command. Finally, it cleans up the tiff files it created. Beautiful little droplet. I was looking for a decent MacBook icon but couldn't find one. So after downloading Easy Bake Icon and IconDroplet, I was able to take Apple's stock photo of the MacBook and create my own MacBook icon in a matter of minutes. Excellent! Thank you to the developer.

Perhaps I lack the knowledge to use this properly but I was not able to get it to work. No matter what image I drop onto Easy Bake it gives me an error message:

"rm: [path]combo of [filename]: no such file or directory"

I end up with an .icns file but it's very low rez and not of the same standard as OS X icons.

If this is a utility for manufacturing System 9 icons that's fine but there is no mention of this in the "instructions".

This little app might need some tweaking before it's really ready for release in the wild where it will be exposed to fairly uneducated souls like me. :)

Just did a psd with alpha channel and dropped on the application.
Perfect. Great work, thanx!
