Forget this!! If you want a real applications for Blogging that is easy to use and is well established and works try RapidWeaver.

Knocks the spots of this application and you are not used as a Beta tester for the developers!!

Thanks for the feedback, RapidWeaver fan. We don't force the user to be beta testers...we just post them on our site and they're picked up automatically.

I got RapidWeaver included in one of those MacUpdate packages and it is a horrible application with the same following as the Emperors New Suit. It cannot import exiting sites, or their content, and have they not heard about WYSIWYG? On top of that you pick a theme and your life ends. At least with iWeb you can pick themes on a page-by-page basis. Sure, Rapidweaver creates fairly clean code but compared to the size of the images and movies the difference is minuscule.

Great App! As a new blogger, I found this easy to use, fast, and has great support. I was able to save the file locally, and upload it to my school's site--saved me hours of work. Other blog apps might be free, but you get what you pay for with this app.

Ok, I purchased, on face value because I was impressed with the features.

There are a few major problems that need to be addressed before I mofrate away from iBlog which I have used for 2 years.

All posts within the blog go onto the frontpage, making the frontpage to long! Which means you have to archive all the time otherwise no one would read your blog, or they would develop RSI in the process.

This software lacks categories! If you can categorise your entries, it would allow you to discuss and post on different related subjects which are not all posted to the frontpage.

The iTunes integration is ver flaky, and I still can not get this software to post my iTunes list into my blog which is really annoying.

It has great potential, I think I may come back in a year when it has matured into a more useable appliction.

Surely the easy way to publish a blog on your .Mac account is to use iBlog, which comes free with .Mac?

Actually iBlog does not come free w/ .Mac. A couple of years ago for a limited time, iBlog was offered free to .Mac users; but like just about all of those offers, they go away forever after about 60 days.

In fact, .Mac has had little to none of these offers lately. I've tried iBlog several times and it works okay, but I had numerous stability issues not to mention the lack of real custom control. BlogwaveStudio was a great alternative but the developer took the money and ran about 3 months ago.

I took the learning curve plunge and d/l wordpress and ecto to create my own custom blog. It's definitely a curve but once you get there, the real beauty and charm of a blog becomes apparent.

I was very excited about this product until I spent my afternoon following their simple "create you first blog" instructions. Everytime I push the "publish to .mac" absolutely nothing happens. Maybe you'll have better luck. I think it sucks.

Can you please tell us what version of Mac OS X you're using? We just posted a fix for Mac OS X 10.3.x users that sounds like the problem you're having.

$30 is a joke for a blog editor.

"using a different .Mac account from the one you used to register will not work unless you purchase another key" is too restrictive, especially for $30.

You'd better use Phoenix or Journler with LiveJournal: it is free!!! Blogger is pretty good too and free!!!

Looks promising. I like the iLife integration, I was pleasantly surprised to launch Blog.Mac and see my current iTunes song.

I would definitely go with either Aqua or Plastic interface. 100% metal is more suited to tiny programs that use just one window, such as Backup or iSync.

One thing that I would suggest as an improvement would be a wizard that appears the first time you launch the program to guide step-by-step the creation of a new blog. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the tabs and options.

More .mac blogging alternatives are always good however I believe that blog.mac could still use some work. Two suggestions I have to have a more document centered interface (I won't get into the metal look debate here) and template support. As far as I can tell there was no such support.
