DynDNS Updater is a Mac OS X client for use with the free and paid DNS services provided by DynDNS
Provides support for updating hosts within the free services Dynamic DNs and Static DNS as well as the paid service Custom DNS. Supports updates over HTTPS and provides an auto-setup feature.
What's New
Version 3.0:
Internet Guide integration - set your DNS servers dynamically without interfering with VPN connections.
Improved diagnostic email template with more useful information for troubleshooting.
Reduced logging of non-warning messages by default.
Fix for a version problem with the widget present in the beta release.
This latest version uses spyware-style tactics to get you to sign up for an "Internet Guide". This changes your DNS server settings, and blocks certain websites. Unacceptable if you ask me.
The setting is clearly marked and easy to disable (on startup or from the prefs later on), but this is something I expect on Windows apps. I've uninstalled it and migrated to a different solution...
Wonderfully done! Works great in 10.5.1 (the client software for no-ip.com doesn't).

I have been using version 1.1.3 on OS 10.4.2 and now on OS 10.4.3 without any problems. Thanks.

I couldn't get previous versions of this to work and switched to JIP_DYNDNS which has worked fine ever since.

Unfortunately this version didin't seem to work with my set-up:
10.4.2 & Router
It grabs the LAN IP 192.*.*.* instead of my WAN.

It works under Tiger but with this and with DNSUpdate I get some error about not being able to start up the daemon and I have to do it manually through DynDNSUpdater and enter my password.
It was fine in 10.3.9 so I think both are broken.

I'm still using Julien's old DNSUpdate v2.7 and it works perfectly fine with Tiger 10.4.2. I have no idea what you mean with "broke under 10.4".
I really don't know why I should replace this fine working tool with a new one that has no rep and offers no benefit.

mmmm
its NOT working properly to me.... at boot time, do not refresh new IP with DynDns... old one -DNSUpdate 2.7- works until today.. like a charm.
( For testing porpouses, i remove old "DNSUpdate 2.7" and install a fresh copy of DynDNS ...i try to reinstall this new version, desintalling deamon, erasing ALL files, rebooting... ALL! ... and problems persist!)

i still using DNSupdate and work fine...
but i see this one its the same and i imagine with more "clean code" and better 10.4.x compatibility...
Even with this new version, I still get the widget error message "the DynDNS Updater daemon refused a conenction...daemon is not compatible with this version of the DynDNS updater" (Using Snow Leopard). Any suggestions?
Under "Edit Host," change the Interface value from Default to External. My guess is you are most likely behind a Cable/DSL modem/router and are not having the modem forward it's IP to your machine.
