iBeat is the most simple metronome and tuner to use. It's simple, fast and very user-friendly, because it only consists of a window that includes everything you need to play in time and stay digitally tuned. With iBeat you can rapidly listen to every musical tone using a simple cascade menu.To use iBeat, just open it and play!

What's New

The speed of the metronome does change... but, only after I go into the Beat Division, change the number, and then return to the original number in the Beat Division. It then changes... but, don't turn off the metronome when you do this. Not a good way to do it, though... The metronome at 60 bpm is running slightly slower than it should, when I was comparing with my computer clock... the potential is there for a good program. I'm assuming that the tuner is playing the right note. I'd like to give a higher rating, later.

I couldn't get the tempo to change with the slider. I'm on a G4 with OS-X 10.4.2.

The program only plays at one tempo no matter where I set the slider. In my book (as a drummer) thats a pretty big drawback...

I don't really know what's happening with Tiger...it's not working with me, too.
That's a big problem, since I'm using a version of REALBasic that's older than Tiger, and I can't actually afford a newer version of RB, nor a new G5 to use with...I'm so sorry.

the metronome's speed varies depending on other processes activity... Is this a joke?

Option-click the download link.

I clicked, it gave me the famous garbled text of Safari loading an archive as a webpage.

Your mileage may vary, but I thought I could save someone a second by posting this up.

That's just what happened to me too. Still not fixed then so.

Whenever this happens, simply hold down your 'Option' key, then click on the download link.

That's what I just said.

Normally, the dev's site fixes it, or MacUpdate adds "Editor's note: Option-click download now if you get garbled text" or something.

It hasn't been "fixed" or commented on by the MU Editor, so I was throwing it out there for anyone browsing comments before downloading to save them a few seconds.

Nice, someone decent finally decided to make one of these freeware. Give it beat division options and maybe a little better tuning interface, and it's pro =P.

I really thank you, especially for the suggestion you gave me.In facts, I was actualy thinking of implementing beat division and other smaller things, but I was going to stop with iBeat; but writing on google "ibeat mickmad", this page came out; I looked at this review and I was so happy, that I decided to continue working on iBeat. In the future I'll add some utilities for guitarists, like an old application did, such as scales!
Thank you,
Michele Perla
