Looks alright. I'm not sure what this does though, can't I just store my passwords in my browser, for free?

Also the menu item icon is rather unattractive. And $20 is a little on the expinsive side. $5, maybe.

I do recognize that for some users there won't be a great deal of perceived value in MenuPass, and I almost didn't release it to the public for that reason.

I wrote MenuPass, and use it instead of my web browser's built in features, for several reasons. One is simply that my web browser doesn't remember passwords for other programs, nor does it remember passwords for certain sites or information for certain fields. Clearing cookies makes it forget things, and there's no way to sync the passwords of multiple web browsers. All very annoying.

Two is that when I lost a hard drive not too long ago, I lost a significant combination of passwords in my browser and a notepad application. From that point forward I wanted all my account/password information centrally managed and located in the folder I backup daily: My Documents.

Three is that anyone with access to either of my computers can potentially use browser stored passwords, some of which can be used to buy things. By extension, a hacker or spyware author could access browser files and get the same information. Very bad.

Hence MenuPass. It doesn't change the world and there is overlap with built-in browser features. It's a little utility. But since writing it I use it multiple times each day, and feel much more secure that everything is centrally managed and secured. It's small and not for everyone, I know. But it seemed like a lot of friends asked me for it when it was just a personal utility, so here it is.

Hope that helps explain my logic with this product.

Kudos on the quick response.

You brought up alot of things I didn't even think about, like the backing up of the Documents folder, which I also tend to do on at least a bi-weekly basis. I'll give this some more use and see how it goes :)

Once again thanks for the response. Maybe you should put a few of those points in the description of the product, it would probably give people a better idea of what the "scope" of the product is.

Cheers mate.

Ok, I just re-read the description, and the points you made are already there, lol. Either you added them after you made your post, or the 13 hour work days are starting to get to me. ;)
