What's EX_M4S2?

EX_M4S2 is a QuickTime component to play the MPEG-4 movies taken by CASIO EXILIM.
As codec FFmpeg(libavcodec) included in MPlayer is used.

Why do you recommend EX_M4S2?

On Mac OS X, in default, we can't play the MPEG-4 movies taken by CASIO EXILIM. If you install EX_M4S2, you can play EXILIM MPEG-4 movies with QuickTime Player. And you can import EXILIM MPEG-4 movies into iPhoto 5.

What kind of MPEG-4 movies can EX_M4S2 play?

I don't. Make sure to take if out of the HD/Library but also -User/Libray and restart.

I really hope the developper will find of solution for this !!

Do you still get the black screen in iPhoto even after you've removed the Flip4Mac components? I do. I'd love to find a workaround for this.

Be sure to quit Safari/Quicktime first..then drop program into the Quicktime library and restart. Directions are a little unclear about this.

THANK YOU! I have been searching for the right digital camera for my wife for Christmas. Found the perfect camera (Casio EX-Z750) then was sorely disappointed to find I could not show movies. Until this fix! Works great!

Hi,
I have installed the codec, the audio plays fine when I playback the files taken from my Casio Z750 but the video is still jerky. I have a ibook G4. My friend is able to playback the same vid with his powerbook. Does anyone out there know what might be wrong? My OS is 10.4.2.

Plays all my Casio EX-Z750 videos. On iPhot they show up as a black image, but when clicked, QuickTime 7 runs and plays the video. Does nayody know how to get iPhot to put the opening image on its little preview?

Please move black video from iPhoto to anywhere.
And then re-import the video to iPhoto.

I had been looking for ages for a way to play these vids on my mac ! You defenitely made my day ! Thanks so much for this !
Actually, I want to upload these vids on my page. As most of people are using windows, do you know if they can play the vids or if they also have to install the codec ?

Did exactly what it says and it pops up with the white screen still, but plays the audio....

1. Put [EX_M4S2.component] to [/Library/QuickTime]
[/Library/QuickTime] equals [Machintosh HD]-[Library]-[QuickTime]
2. Restart your Mac OS X.

Wouldn't it possible to solve the conflict with Flip4mac ? I use it everyday and It's a pitty I have to remove it to be able to use the Exilim plug-in...

Using Mac OS 10.4.8, QuickTime 7.1.3 on a MacBook Pro, EX_M4S2 2.0.2 conflicts with the Flip4Mac components in /Library/Quicktime and only plays audio (video is white)...with them removed, it works fine.

I've downloaded the latest codec and followed the instructions...but when I play my .avi movies...I get a white screen but audio plays fine...

I'm running OS 10.4.8, QT Pro v7.1.3...

All files are located on my local drive and not on any memory card or network drive...

On my mac mini(PowerPC) with QT 7.1.3 and Mac OS 10.4.7, EX_M4S2 works well.
I think on your Mac some components conflict with EX_M4S2.
Clean /Library/QuickTime. And then install EX_M4S2. (10/12/2006, Version: 2.0.2)

hey...thanks...u were absolutely right!!... I just did a process of eliminiation with all the components in the quicktime library and its seems this particular codec was the culprit:
"Flip4Mac WMV Import.component"

Oh my god !!
I really need and love this program, but since the last update, it's not working anymore !!
My videos that use to have a sample picture in Iphoto 6 are now black, and the codec don't seem to operate...
Am I alone ?
