Fraqtive - is a program for drawing Mandelbrot and Julia fractals. It uses a very fast algorithm and generates high quality, smooth images. It is fully interactive, allowing for real-time mouse navigation and dynamic generation of the Julia fractal preview. OpenGL-rendered 3D view of the fractals is also supported. It is extremely fast - display of Mandelbrot and Julia sets, zooming in or out is almost realtime (even on older hardware).

Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.3 or later, Trolltech's Qt/Mac 3.3 C++ framework - a download link for a binary installer of Qt/Mac 3.3.4 (GPL/QPL edition is provided with th e installer)

With no confirmation that you have installed Qt runtime as recommended, your report is not much use.

Suggestion to maintainer:

This does not need to be distributed in a .pkg format. You can put the installation folder in a .zip archive or place the folder in a disk image (.dmg) so the user can simply install it wherever he or she likes.

Performs well even on 400 Mhz G4, with iterations cranked up, well, not ALL the way...

Being a Qt GUI, it is not entirely up to usual Mac OS X interface standards, but, after all, you're just making pretty pictures here. Everything works.

Note that in order to use this software you ALSO will have to download and install a 30+ Mb installer for the Qt runtime libraries, which installs in subdirectories of /usr.

The maintainer of this package has kindly provided clear links for putting together the required support on your system.
