What I'd like to know here is, why was this not installed with my CS2 Pro upgrade? Apparently, I was still running v.1.0. I didn't even realise it was meant to be installed.

After running the update installer, all support contract and installed update details are lost, so beware. On next run, there is a tendancy for the Adobe updater to then recommend downloading all your previously installed updates for a second time. Klutzy.

C'mon Adobe, I've paid good money for this - please make me feel like it's a solid, competent product.
