Capture IT! is a capture utility that captures live video frames from QuickTime compatible video hardware to local TIFF files. Also has the capability of doing time lapse capture from tape machines video.

This does not take stills from existing Quicktime movies, but takes video stills captured over firewire video devices or from other Quicktime compatible hardware.

Yes, why would you want this program when QT Pro can already do it?

Quicktime Pro is five dollars cheaper and can export to tiff and many other formats. Why pay more money for less functionality?

To export any Quicktime readable picture to tiff with Quicktime Pro, choose "Movie to Image Sequence," then click the "Options" button. Choose "tiff" from the drop-down menu and save.

I think you misunderstand what it does. This does NOT take existing Quicktime movies and exports image files from them. It hooks into video hardware such as a firewire video camera or AJA video card and captures images off of tape. Quicktime PRO does not support this.

I open the program and the window is easily twice as large as my screen and I cannot resize it, let alone be able to get to all the buttons. This alone make it useless to me.

To top it off, no matter what number I enter for a capture, I get "An exception of NilObjectException was not handled. The application must be shut down."

It crashes every time. Useless.

This was an early release and there were some issues when working with HD video or video sources larger than SD. That has all been resolved in the latest version and many other bugs causing the application to crash on launch have been resolved. Hope you consider revisiting the software and provide any feed back to us you may have so we can make the product valuable for everyone.
