MyNotes is not compatible with macOS Catalina. Does anyone know of a way to export notes in the existing version 2, so that they can be migrated to another app? This is really irresponsible of the developer. He or she should have given some migration path out of the app if they were going to depreciate it. On the verge of losing lots of notes. Needless to say, to those thinking about buying this app, don’t.

myNotes on my iPhone has been rendered inoperable since my iOS update. How do I recover ALL my notes?

Thanks!

Well, I've just tried it and I think the price is a joke! So little features for 30$? Not even label colors for the collections! I'm sticking to iNotepad (which has become free in the meantime ;-) even if the interface is not as stylish, or rather pay 45$ for Scrivener who does a looooot more.

Where could I find a copy of v. 1 of MyNotes. I do not use this app frequently. I recently upgraded to v. 2, but didn't use it after that. And today, I realize that I had some notes in v. 1, that I had not exported in order to be able to import them into v. 2. Not a lot of notes, but still some useful notes. If somebody could direct me to a copy of v. 1 that I could download, this would be much appreciated - since there seems to be no way to contact support...

After installing the December 2011 update, this program was totally broken - all previous entries lost. I used Time Machine to save the day, but although I offered to help troubleshoot the issue, the dev never responded. This week, I tried to contact him one last time re: any potential update for Mountain Lion. But the Mishimo website is down, and e-mail gets bounced back undelivered. Bummer. This was a nice little program.

This is an excellent product and I am fine with paying another $30 to update after several years ownership. My only wish is that it synced between devices, but the developer is working on that, according to the website. I use this app every day and it saves hours a week. Well worth the modest fee.

For all the whiners about the Mac App Store... It has nothing to do with Apple becoming a "monopoly". No developer is forced to distribute through the App Store. They choose to do so. Why do they choose to do so? For the simple reason that they actually can make a living now because more people are exposed to their applications and sales increase. They can now make a fair living through their efforts sold through the App Store, and they can spend more time on development and less on administration and paperwork. Yet here are people sobbing because they don't get a discount on a $30 app. It's a $30 app, not $300. A developer can spend hundreds of hours delivering a new release, but at low traditional-shareware fees their efforts are reimbursed at below minimum wage. The app store better rewards developers who provide quality products like myNotes. Spend less at Starbucks for a couple of days and support small, independent developers.

Well, shoot. This is the whole thing about the Mac App Store... stuff starts to become available ONLY that way... Apple gets more and more of a monopoly, thus can dictate the market... I'm not going to pay full price for an update I don't know is significant just to be tied into the MAS scheme! This is B.S.

I have had this program for some time. Very nice and useful. However as I paid for it once I was expecting a discount with this next upgrade. Imagine my surprise to hear from the developer that I had to purchase it again at full price. This a new angle to me. Guess I will be looking for other software to do this job once my present version no longer works.

Looks like it might be a decent notepad but 29.95 is a lot of money to shell out without even being able to take it for a test drive. What's with all these app store developers expecting customers to blindly pay them for products they don't even know will work for them.

So I give it a try as a replacement for voodoo pad, and I like it except you cant link between notes, this is its major flaw, it will only link internally, ok it has the tree thing going but its not quite right

Great program. Simple, minimal, gets the job done. There's one major flaw though: the Spotlight doesn't search within the MyNotes.

UPDATE to my previous post: Even though I used to use a tree up to 3 levels deep, I've found a way to reorganize my notes to where this is no longer necessary. So the current way myNotes works is pretty cool, I just needed to rethink how I did a few things. After paying for and using it every day for awhile now, I've found only one main thing I would improve: Often when pasting text from somewhere else into myNotes, it has this annoying habbit of maintaining formatting, causing me to have to go to Edit->Paste And Match Style ... it would be nice if I could set in config to ALWAYS match current style. Other than that, wonderful software I use every day. I just hope the data is super-stable and secure, as well as easy to back up?

I created a similar program for PC, so when I switched to Mac I needed to find something new to replace it. Well, this program would be PERFECT if it could go just 1 level deeper. If notes could have "sub notes" or something, that would be ideal. My old program worked on the basis of a tree and any node on the tree could contain its own notes (just click on the node and type in the pane on the right) or any of its sub nodes could also be notes. You could go as deep on the tree as you wanted, but I found that I never personally went any more than 3 levels deep. So I'm just saying that if you added one more level, it would be perfect.

I'd get this.. if... it had the ability to keep the window on top of all others if you chose to (like Scribblet).. I also like the Sidenote setup where the window glides from a screen side.. myNotes is better in the organizational sense but I really need an app with a "remain on top" toggle behavior... myNotes could be Perfect... hint... ;-)

Simple and elegant, a must-have for note-taking. Better than every other app tested because this one just has the few features which are really needed. Thanks to the developer!
