For those who think WMV Studio costs too much, what's wrong with upgrading to QuickTime Pro for $30? QuickTime opens Windows Media, and going Pro allows you to save the file.

How does QT pro open and save a wmv file?

I own QT pro 7 and I had to download media player 9 for mac just to view wmv files.

I Agree. I own Quicktime Pro 7.05 and it will not open WMV files. You must know something we don't. Care to enlighten us??

Quicktime can play WMV files with a tool from Microsoft - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=915D874D-D747-4180-A400-5F06B1B5E559&displaylang=en
(Flip4Mac)

Not sure if it is available for Windows, though.

Tried it... it works great when playing WMV file inside your Quicktime player.

I have QT Pro version but when I tried to export it to FLV format, the audio is OUT OF SYNC.

Looks promising though... I'll try again when this is version 1.5 or 2.0

I don't see how it converts from .mov to wmv...I see how it works the OTHER way.

Are they smoking crack?! $179?!

Here it is almost Halloween 2005 and I've just switched back to a Mac. iMac G5. Like it but it sure different than my old Mac PowerPC 7200 that still works!

Just got rid of the 2nd, fairly new hand-me-down Dell PC that died. Fan was wheezing, Windows 98 was being hacked to death. The poor Dell slowed down so much the garbage truck ran over it while it was trying to get to the other side of the road.

Now I'm just learning that the iMac won't read wmv files. I'll be dammed if I'll pay $175 for Studio Pro to convert these silly attachments.

Surely there must be something in Adobe's Creative Suite 2 Premium that can do the job?????

What's a .wmv file?

That's a joke, son.

I bloody well know what a windows media video file is, but...

Anything that has to do with Microslop has nothing to do with me and my Mac. NOTHING.

Never.

And it needs updates. It can't read AVI files.
