And we have now created a wekly AudioCast in iTunes so you can download issues
What's New
Version 1-1-2007: Monthly magazine updates.
Requirements
PPC / Intel, Mac OS X 10.0 or later, PDF viewer.
We continue to improve the product. We have also taken a few back issues and made them available in iTunes as a MagCast. Search on "macCompanion" in iTunes to subscribe to the PDFed versions.
Watch for some AudioCasts that will be posted soon as we continue to experiment with media.
Not a bad read, and the price can't be beaten. But every article I have read has spelling and/or grammatical mistakes (like 'faster then', 'informations', or just missing words).
"...this isn't an application or other software really. It's an electronic journal - from what I can tell."
In the short description it states clearly that it is an "e-zine", which is an electronic magazine. It is "for all things Macintosh", again, as it says. If you are not interested you need not go any further than the short description as it reads on the MacUpdate main page. Others may well be interested, it is for that reason this is provided as a download by the developers to our users. And it is free.
FYI: The July issue has around 134 pages and is around 7 MB in size for the PDF download and not 3.7 MB. Probably one of our largest issues. And James did a great job with the Cover, didn't he?
But hey, each of you folks make it all worth the time and effort it takes to get these published. Thanks so much for taking the time to read our reviews. June had over 12GB of downloads and 18,500 more viewers came to visit, along with the 1 million who keep coming back for more.
You are truly awesome!!
(And maybe, just maybe we can help those who tend to be a little dyslexic and finger-happy with the keyboard to write well. The better you write, the better you look. Take it from one who knows. ;^)

Lacks pictures... maybe their not necessary, but illustrations make things lively. It was a bit too dark with text.

Anonymous who says there are not enough pictures. Words are worth at least a thousand pictures. However, I strongly suggest you download Schubertit so yu can see the document in your browser in pdf form then decide to download it if you wish. Schbertit is free for private useage.

It may be a fine journal - but i don't see how it qualifies for MacUpdate.
