MBBench displays the speed of you hard drives and recording devices.
The burn speed can be displayed while burning with LiquidCD.
Please note that the "Burn Test" doesn't display the speed but only gives you a good idea of what the speed is by measuring how fast the data is sent to the recording device.
Sometimes the best way to verify that a storage device or network connection is working properly is to just copy something and observe.
MBBench provides valuable feedback in a clean and easy to read graph. It's amazing that this is free. The author accepts donations. Fabio, If you still have time to develop this, please chime in to encourage donations - it has been a few years since an update. I know I should be sending you a couple of bucks for the value I've received from this.
Some suggestions: Devices list is limited to 9 items. With my internal flash reader, BD drive, and USB media, I only have a spot for one of 5 SATA hard drives. Instead of a pull down list, perhaps a checkbox list that can display all media. An option to hide mechanisms that do not have media wouldn't hurt.
Actual drive benching tools would be a cool addition as well (like AJA System Test or XBench).
