Great app, both for end users and developers wanting to thest their NSUserDefaults implementation. Give it a try!

A "real Cocoa programmer"? As opposed to ... a fake Carbon programmer? A fake java programmer? Way to lose any trace of credibility.

Nice app though, indeed.

I think he meant "a real cocoa programmer" in the sense that this isn't a 12 MB app that only triggers cron jobs and costs $30

I hope that as the other person pointed out the AP meant "real cocoa programmer" meaning the app is stable and easy to use, rather than "fake cocoa programmer" meaning the app is shoddily built and easy to break.

A lot of design effort went into Defaulter in the hope that people would be able to tell that it was not just thrown together.

We have nothing but respect for Carbon or Java (or any other language/API) programmers here at DU Software. And in fact if you take a look at our site you'll see we even provide a Haskell language tool.

I hope you enjoy using Defaulter.

I agree. This is a damned nice looking app and gee but it's less than a meg too so maybe the author is a real Cocoa programmer? In any case it looks good, it's tasteful - my only caveat is I don't really find going through my prefs with a text editor all that cumbersome - on the contrary. As a developer myself I have Property List Editor for free and I hate it! I also hate those little boxes in the developer tools for the same thing. There are basic things like copy and paste which become so cumbersome with this 'outline view' here.

Best wishes to the developer and a nod for what looks like a great job!

I've had a good experience with Defaulter. The developer seems very committed, and it's invaluable for someone like me, who is always doing reinstalls. I could also see this coming in very handy for people with two macs, sharing preferences between them.

Really, I think this could grow into a bit of a cult phenomenon, making preference sharing a lot easier than it's been before. It's also very nice to not have to dig through your Library/Preferences folder to change things.
