Just got (finally) the 2.4 PPC version of Gimp running on my 1.2ghz iBook after the 10.5.2 and x.org X11-1.2.4 updates, so I will be using that while I watch for a Leopard-usable version of Gimpshop, hopefully based on the 2.4.x Gimp.
Apple doesn't appear to have done a whole lot to assure X11 functionality under 10.5.2. Guess they expect you to spend $600 for P-shop. Ain't happenin'...

More more Mac OS X.
If you need a more complete Photoshop like, then try Pixel (not free) http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/18055/pixel

Gimpshop is a big step forward, the most shortcuts for tools working exacly like in PS and PSE for MS-Windows because the command-key is at the control-key. On my 1.2 Ghz G4 with 1.2 GB RAM Gimpshop works fast and stable and the best news is the brand-new free UFRaw plugin:
http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/Install.html#Mac
Although Mac Gimpshops development has a delay compared to the Linux version, it's a very good tool for private use and we can really look forward to the plugins like Refocus, Wideangle Lens, CMYK - and maybe someone who will spent some work on this somewhat elaborate interface.
Gimpshop didn't replaced my PSE yet but I'm working on it. Thank you very much!

Seems to run very well on my Intel iMac (early 2006). Don't see any "RAW" support but I've not read the docs at all and I should RTFM before complaining, right?
I like the Photoshop key equivalents; If I'm going to learn something beyond iPhoto, it might as well have a similar-to-PS UI, right?
I ran the "yellow cursor" fix before running anything; can't say whether I had the problem or not before - never saw it in other X11 apps.
re: Copying between the app and OSX clipboard - very nice.
I'll try to learn more and post a review soon. At first blush, however, maybe I don't even need Photoshop? :D

So far opens all my PSDs. I'm impressed. Although I can't figure out how to edit text...

I must be mucking something up though, since it still gives me the same error afterwords.
Running Gimpshop 2.2.11 and Leopard 10.5.1 on a mac book pro duo.
