ACSLogo is a Logo Interpreter for Mac OS X. Logo is a popular language used to teach simple programming by guiding the progress of a 'turtle' which moves around a graphics screen. Despite Logo's simplicity, complex pictures can be constructed.

What's New

Version 1.5.1:

This release requires Leopard (OS X 10.5) or above.

Enhancements

On-screen graphics have been brought into line with the graphics produced when exporting to PDF. This means you get proper 'corners' when drawing a connected series of lines, and most of the performance problems which emerged with Leopard should have gone.
New functions have been addedWrap returns whether wrap is on or off , Shadow returns the shadow state, ColourAtPoint returns the colour of the pixel at the supplied co-ordinate.
You can now export graphics as JPEGs and PNGs as well as TIFFs and a few other types..
Bug Fixes
The Towards function sometimes gave the wrong angle; this should be fixed. A crash which occurred when opening a tutorial that is already open should be fixed.

Just an FYI, but ACSLogo is now Intel-only (1.5.0 was the last PPC/Universal version).

All I had to say to this Logo is: ... simply the best of all...
As a teacher of informatics I really can compare this language and this ACSLogo to other dialects and attempts to realize it on a computer.This version is totally stable, clear and supplies the user with an excellent resulting grafics. On an iMac from 2009 I use it now since times of a PPC and one of the first logos on the market. And I never have had big problems with it. With these new iMacs it is a very fast interpreter language and it is very easy to learn and demonstrate the main features of logo.

Therefore I thank the developers for this great programming language.

A earlier reviewer of ACSLogo condemned it, saying it “Wouldn't work for me”. I suspect that he overlooked the need to _select_ a part of the script window before hitting Cmd/Return. No command selected, no command carried out. I can report that ASCLogo works perfectly for me. I have had hours of addictive fun with it, with all the old Logo favourites dancing on the screen. The language contains no “while” or “for” procedures, but as the author explains, you can so easily “roll your own”, which I have done, and they work. I looked briefly at some other modern Logo implementations. ACSLogo is the one I am staying with. (10/13/2007, Version: 1.4d)

Doesn't work for me. iMac G4 1.2Ghz plus OSX 10.3.8.

When I press command+enter after typing a valid logo instruction nothing happens, except the the word "Special" in the menu bar flashes....

Doh!
