Nice movie player. Works well with my .mpg and .avi files. It also plays DVDs well.
Please keep improving it.

Although the true trump card will be whoever is first to play WMV9 video on the Mac. I've got dozens of anime fansubs that I'm waiting to play but can't (and no, Windows Media Player will NOT work, as they are in an avi container).

I found a bug: if you try to open a file that XinePlayer won't play (like a pls or m3u file), it won't accept any more entries in the Open URL menu... You can't delete the text string (usually it's file://...).
Thanks for the great port of xine to OS X! :)

=== cut here ===
tell application "XinePlayer"
activate
end tell
tell application "System Events"
if UI elements enabled then
click menu item "Open DVD" of menu "File" of menu bar 1 of process "XinePlayer"
end if
end tell
== cut here ===
And then in the CDs & DVDs pane of the system preferences, set this script to launch when inserting a video DVD.

I'm looking for an every-format player, QT is usually junk. It doesn't support any standard Windows formats, but this apparently can't even play QuickTime?! It's not that much work to include QT support guys, really.

Other than that, however, it does still depend somewhat on the media you're trying to play. :)
