FolderOrg is a Folder Action that can be attached to any folder. Once attached, FolderOrg will organize new items added to the folder into sub folder named with the current date. This helps to keep track of when items were added to a folder. It's perfect for your Downloads folder.
What's New
Version 1.2:
- Renamed FolderOrg from FolderOrg X. OS 9 is long gone and is no longer supported, so no need for the distinction.
- Better compatibility with Safari download files with the .download extension
- Opening FolderOrg from the Finder will allow the user to set some preferences

The switching to Finder after every action is a little annoying, if you are downloading many items.
To do this, double-click on the FolderOrg icon (probably located in /Library/Scripts/Folder Action Scripts/ if installed as per the ReadMe file).
You will then be prompted with three dialog boxes asking for some preferences. The second question is: 'Do you want to make the Finder active when new items are added?' Click 'Deactivate' to turn this off.
From the ReadMe:
FolderOrg has three settings that may be changed that affect all folders it is attached to. To configure FolderOrg, you will need to double-click on the FolderOrg icon in the /Library/Scripts/Folder Action Scripts/ folder.
• Do you want to show the folder when items are added?
Clicking 'Show' will open the current dated subfolder in the Finder when an item is added to it.
• Do you want to make the Finder active when new items are added?
Clicking 'Activate' will bring the Finder to the front application when any items are added to the dated subfolder.
• Do you want to set the modification date to the time the items were added?
Clicking 'Change Modification Date' will set the added item to the time FolderOrg moved it. This makes it easy to sort by modification date to see when the file was processed by FolderOrg.
