QemuX claims to be a powerful UI (User Interface) for the Qemu CPU Emulator (by Fabrice Bellard). As qemu currently only runs as a Terminal App, a Cocoa application for managing configurations and simple launching of a foreign Operating System makes your life easier.
You don't have to worry about installing qemu first - QemuX will get and install it for you. It also includes an Assistant for setting up a foreign Operating System on your Mac. Try it - It's so easy!
One reason some people prob can't get it to work is the installer messes up the install a little bit.
you need to craete a link from or copy the file
/Applications/Qemu/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib
to
/opt/local/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib
in order for it to work
It seems to be touch and go when it comes to install CD's. It didn't like my Windows 98 disk but it took Win2K just fine.

Just updated to 0.15b. Working great and I have networking going now. Check it out...way better than using the terminal. Now if Qemu 0.7 was available...

Seems to have great potential, but I just can't get it to work...
Nice idea, but after wasting my time with a three days install of WIN (XP) it didn't start after all (btw: only after the fifth trial QemuX recognized the WIN Install CD). Dear developers of QemuX, please test and validate your software in a better way before releasing it. It seems to be a little bit rough-and-ready at the moment. VirtualPC is expensive, but it is no problem to install and run WIN on it in one single step and in less than 2 hours.
