Version 2.5.3: Release notes were unavailable when this listing was updated.
I have made my experience with about 100 sms of all lengths sent internationally (mainly Europe) and all has worked extremely well.
But I'm not surprised as the name of Alco Blum kept coming up on my mails already some 12 or even 15 years ago and allready then anything from Alco was a perfect support (was it Touchbase Alco or what?)

First the good stuff. This is a neat little application; and the developer seems to be very supportive and attempts to solve any problems. If you need to send international SMS, it may be the best product I've seen. Now for the issues. I live in the USA and have a ported number. When I couldn't receive messages, the developer did fix my number; but what about other ported numbers I send messages to? What if they never know they didn't receive one? Also, I use Verizon Wireless; and any REPLIES I send are not received. (Of course, I could start a new SMS to the sender; but that's another aggravation you have to hope people remember to do.) This application started me on the road to find a great solution. For me, since I don't need to send international messages, I simply use iChat to send AIM to mobile phones; and they can reply just fine to iChat. When I leave home and have not received my replies, I just turn AIM on in my mobile phone and my replies are delivered that way. This works well; and I don't have to rely on people remembering to do the correct thing to reply to me. THIS IS A NEAT LITTLE APPLICATION THOUGH.

I've used this software since version 1.01 and it rocks. One of my Mac Gems for ease of use, support and of course productivity. I love being able to send a quick mssg to a mobile when I can't assume somebody's at their computer or actually reading their mail.
Had a few niggles when I started but lightnign fast support from Alco and his team sorted me out in no time. Highly recommend this.

Having just discovered that three texts I sent from UK to Germany were not received, you might care to look into it. All info correct at my end. I'll stick by the product though, has given me no problems at home.

I'll reply to my own comment; this is probably due to the UK phone abroad not accepting texts, not the service itself.

That's a gold star by the way.

It works for me. In the UK it costs ten pence to send texts via my phone, SMS Mac works out at five. What's to complain about? Yes, there appear to be similar services which are free but such a lunch often repeats; it costs to keep a product in good order. No incentive, poor service.

The price of each SMS is 10 cents, which is a very reasonable price. The price is the same for international SMS. There are no roaming costs.
We support Unicode, Long SMS, Flash SMS (not in US) and caller ID (not in US).
You can send an SMS via the Address Book plug-in or using the Dashboard Widget.

I don't see how the cost is 10 cents. On the page to pay for this programme it clearly says 0.10 euro. At current rates this is just under 13 cents. This is still good value (if you live in the UK), but that is not the point. The home page clearly says each sms is 10 cents but one dollar does not equal one euro!
"This SMS cannot be sent, because the following SMS feature is not supported for this destination: Long SMS" on at least 2 different german networks. It was working on Februar 6, I'm sure. Has anybody the same problem ?
