Doesn't colorizes custom folders (like the "music" folder with the note on it), aliases, documents or applications. Only colorizes "normal" folders. Would be great to have an app that colorizes everything.

..."I will check back in a month or so to see if the candy striped can be resolved."
Oh really! I think you will have a long wait.
This is an excellent FREE daemon, it's purpose is to add colour onto the folder, to match the label. Which it does.
It is not a haxie.

Ok but does not do what I want.
I hate Apple's "Candy Stripe" use of labels in list view and I thought Hey Folders would color only the folder. It instead gives me a colored folder on the same colored candy stripe background.
It is of limited use but I'd like it better if I could have it color only the folder. I won't use it but I will check back in a month or so to see if the candy striped can be resolved.

Excellent, fast response from the developer, thanks!
I generally have to agree with most of the previous comments about its limitations. Unfortunately those limitations will currently keep it off my system. What I was hoping for is something that would just tint the folder and not the title, while getting rid of that annoying strip of color in views other than "Folder View." Unfortunately this is not the case.
If you are looking for an alternative that will do this, I suggest Viou, available at the same price -Free. You can choose a colored folder as the base folder and automatically paste an application icon on to it if you choose. It just labels or customizes the folder. Its interface takes a little getting used to but its worth it.
The bottom line, in my opinion, "Hey Folders" is a nice idea with plenty of promise, but needs a lot more development before it is ready for "Prime Time."
