iSale needs to be updated to better reflect the changes that take place at eBay. For instance, I received a notice weeks before that in August eBay was going to allow titles to have 25 more characters, but about a month later iSale is still limited to the old character limit (55, I think). Also, iSale allows insurance as an option for shipping, but eBay has not permitted that for years. For a paid app, the developer needs to be more attentive to the changes and incorporate these into this program.

Pros: Intuitive GUI, nice integration with iPhoto library, excellent collection of templates, well-writen users manual, virtually eliminates need to use the web-based eBay site.

Cons: Can't revise item using iSale after it's submitted, however, it's simple enough to just go to the eBay site and alter the listing there.

Overall, I like this software. I like the "Stacks" like template building.

My complaint that would be easy to fix is that I don't have a 27" monitor so I would like to be able to close the Auction viewer pane. This is the pane (pain!) that is inbetween the editing window and the library panel. I find no use for having this always open! Why don't you guys enable it to close so I can truly work on my project. Further, why not enable the library panel to close as well? Then I could work full screen. That would be the best.

Thank you!

Very frustrating software. Some categories wont transfer to ebay. Image sizes also a problem, uploaded image is not the same size as per isale/ebay preview. Clearing/deleting eqcache, eqbd.plist nor CachedResponses as suggested wont do either. Whilst communication was not bad, still waiting for a solution.

Just beware that you will probably have to give more money to them in the future because they don't offer free updates. And many times the updates are needed since ebay changes their policies often. So you will be forced to update for a fee, I was. I wasn't aware of this when I first purchased their software and probably wouldn't have purchased it if I knew, so I'm just warning others. ---The program though is okay, it gets the job done.

I purchased version 5 over a year ago and am still getting free updates. I imagine when iSale goes to version 6 it may be a fee to upgrade, but that's the way things work in the software business. If I don't like it, I'll keep using the current version I paid for. I suppose whatever you do for a profession you do not offer your services for free either.

Ya you are right. That is how the software business works. The only thing that irritated me was that I had isale version 4 and it was working fine, then one day when I was trying to list a bunch of things it stopped working. It stopped working because ebay changed one of their policies. I had to upgrade to isale 5 to start listing again. Not a big deal. Ya they do work hard and deserve money for their work, but I guess it just irritated me that version 4 became useless and was forced to purchase version 5...but it is what it is and not a big deal. It is a very aesthetic piece of software and doesn't crash or anything so I really don't have much to complain about. Just lettin people know that they may be forced to purchase the upgrades :)

Hi, I purchased isale several years ago and have gone through several pay upgrades. Sadly isale has always been more of a hindrance than a help. It's extremely slow with more than a ton of glitches that the geniuses over at equinox never seem to iron out even after updates and paid upgrades. It's like you never get the full usable product that you pay for or that you were led to believe you would get when purchasing. It seems to be to be more of a total fraud than anything. At this point it appears they have almost completely abandoned any focus doing anything to repair or improve things. isale has no option for item detail specifics that are now common on many ebay listings. I have to revise individually every item through ebay after listing and this takes twice as much time. Which time is what I thought isale was supposed to save me and that is just one of the minor issues. Of course I let them know this over at equinox over a year or two ago but they did nothing to fix it. The worst thing is how slow it is and how when you click on one of your prepared auction tabs it skips around to other tabs and sits there and spins and does nothing and it takes forever to get back to the item you want to upload or prepare. Earlier tonight it took me 40 minutes to list one item. I would really like all the money back that I have sunk into this through the years and I wish the people profiting from this would be arrested for fraud. I am now looking for a true upstanding listing tool if there is one out there for mac. At the time I purchased isale it was the only thing out there. Skip the isale and save yourself a major headache is my personal opinion and best advice. If anyone knows of a good listing tool Please let me know. Thanks!

I also like this app -but- the inability to revise a running auction, and issues with FTP'ing pictures to sites hosted on shared/grid (i.e., mediatemple) servers is what lead me to delete this app and go with its competitor. When isale can revise a running auction I might reinstall it.

Don't know why so many people are complaining about this app. It has a decent amount of templates. I pick one for the classification of items I mostly sell and it looks great. I even had someone contact me asking what program I use to create my ads since they look so professional. I believe my auctions are ending higher now than prior to using the program.

I ran into one problem last night where iSale kept getting stuck on "uploading to ebay." I tried numerous fixes, none of which worked. I decided to try to delete some of the photos in my FTP space (only 10MB of space), and now iSale is working flawlessly, so apparently that was full. Too bad the program couldn't have let me know this was the problem, as I wasted 30 minutes troubleshooting that I could have spent posting auctions. Also, sometimes when I click the upload/post button, iSale sits there and fails to upload to ebay, but when I click it a second time it will work.

Overall, I am happy with iSale and am continuing to use it to post my auctions. I would recommend it to anyone interested. The area where iSale saves me the most amount of time is in photo management; resizing and uploading photos to my FTP space -- iSale does it automatically where I had to do it manually before. I hate taking the time to post stuff on ebay, and iSale helps to make the whole process go a little quicker.

OK, so I enter my FTP details (which weren't preserved from the 2.x demo for some reason, despite my giving permission to access the Keychain item) and hit 'Test Upload', and the whole thing just crashes. Not good.

It also trys to 'phone home' on each start up. If this is just a check for new versions, please add an option to disable this. I prefer to manage my updates through macupdate.com rather than have apps all shouting 'look at my shiny new version' every time I start them :)

Of course, if it's NOT just a check for new versions, please tell us what you're sending back and why...

Ah, found in the manual that the connection is an attempt to download templates - which would explain why there didn't appear to be any in there.

I think I still have a bit of paranoia left over from the last time I used Windows...
