ImageBurner is a front-end for the Mac OS X "hdiutil" command-line tool. It allows you to easily burn disk images (such as ISOs) to CD-ROM or DVD-ROM using drag-and-drop, without messing with the command line or having to purchase Toast.
What's New
Version 2.0: Universal binary, more options, bug fixes, and image type support.
Yup this is a grate little app. It's doing the job of burning a DMG as I write.
Should be a standard part of the OS. Like "BOMArchiveHelper" (although I use a a nice free app called "The Unarchiver" for expanding archives)
The "Disk Utility" should support disk burning as it does, but a clean simple utility such as "ImageBurner" is really needed for the novice user.
"Disk Utility" formats HDs - this is not a place I want my novice friends and clients to go unless I instruct them first in what exactly to use it for.
I encourage the developer and thank him for his efforts.
Burn is finished - thanks

Obviously it burns .toast images as DiscBurner.framework burns does!
No offense there but why the need of another gui as Disk Utility does all what ImageBurner does?
I hate duplicate utilities on my machines, it's why i will not install it...

some people might be a bit intimidated that their disk burning software also happens to have the capability of erasing their hard disk
Some else wrote "More than one Application Development Project with a similar objective is very good for the platform and computing in general." so true.

It doesn't recognize my DVD drive (Pioneer DVR-108)

ImageBurner is just a front-end for "hdiutil" - it doesn't "recognise" anything. I suspect hdiutil doesn't support your burner, but if you find it does please email me and we can figure out what's going on. For the record, it works OK with a Pioneer A06 drive.

What exactly does this do that Disk Copy doesn't?

Nothing. It's just much simpler.

...in the same way that TextEdit doesn't do anything that M$ Word doesn't do. And I use TextEdit all the time, despite there being a copy bought for me at work.
