1. Before being logout, there is a long delay (1 minute maybe) which allowed me to find how it was working.
2. The protection can be removed by deleting the Safer Workstation application or just renaming/moving it as the crontab is using an absolute path name.
3. The protection can be removed by deleting the crontab which is added.
4. The logout can be canceled by running a terminal as root or an application which refuses to quit on logout.

Too many unanswered questions for now.
Which means -- and let it be made perfectly clear that I'm in no way accusing the developer of doing this -- that the developer could, in theory, set up the application to allow this back door to work over a network.
I appreciate the effort, but closed-source RealBasic is not something I'm going to trust here.
