The biggest thing I miss about safari stand is the ability to set a web pages font. It's never gotten that back and the features it now has are lll useless

This is an essential plug-in for Apple Safari. I thought I would have to downgrade to pre Safari 5.1 in order to have the one feature of SafariStand that I like most: 'Clip WebArchive with Selection'. It's a great feature that allows you to select part of web page and make a WebArchive out of it, pictures and all. Thanks to the developer for not omitting this great feature. That alone is worth a meager $5 donation to me. Then there is searching using QuickSearch, a must have.

Great bundle of features , including keyboard shortcuts for navigating tabs (programmed to mouse buttons, although that's not a feature of safaristand). Several of which have become essential enough to me that I wait to update Safari until SS is compatible.

First of all...HUZZAH for bringing back the Sidebar! That's *the* feature that makes SafariStand a must-have for me, and without it, I just can't use Safari with horizontal tabs. (Same with Chrome.)

I love how I can toggle between the side tabs and Reading List. I was wondering how the developer was going to work that one out.

But, I do find that I cannot use Netflix with the sidebar enabled...when I do, I can't get any of the Netflix Instant Play controls to work...start and stop, full screen, etc. I've test half a dozen times, and each time I go to Netflix with the Sidebar on, the Instant Play controls don't work...if I go to Netflix with the sidebar turned off, then I can use the Instant Play controls. But, if I turn the side bar on while I'm playing Instant Play, then the Netflix controls don't work for me.

I don't know if this is true for others, but wanted to report this and see if others had this problem with NetFlix Instant Play.

Otherwise, I'm thrilled with this update and so glad to have back my beloved side tabs!

When I used Safari this was the plugin that made the browser usable for me. It used to offer features that are no longer available, but I commend the developer(s) for keeping it alive and I know they are adding features all the time, albeit slowly. But it takes time to recode the software, and that is understandable.

I LOVE the quick search feature; being able to right-click a selection of text on a page and choose to search it in any one of your customized search engines is a great feature I miss in other browsers. I like how this plugin also handles URL bar searches by displaying the search engine/site chosen. I miss site alterations the most.

Overall, a great extension that is worthy of your time if you're a Safari user.

First of all, thank you so much for keep on supporting this great plugin!!! The new ‘Never show Original Tab Bar’ is AMAZING.

1. Would love to see the old ‘Tab image preview’ option coming back.
2. Also, the old windows/sessions restore/manager was great.
3. I think that the ‘Select next/preview Tab’ hot-key isn't working.
4. Favicons on the Sidebar can be bigger (similar to Safari reading list).

Thanks!

Re: item 2. David Yoo's Sessions extension works great for me:

I mostly miss the old Action menu and have slowly been finding alternatives to regain some of its functionality.

It may not be dead yet, but progress is slow. From the developer site:

Because of big change of Safari 5.1 and rebuilding from scratch, very limitted version currently.

I haven't reinstalled it after updating to Lion, because of less functionality of personal value (compared to earlier versions) and the uncertain future of SIMBL that it still depends on.

I've donated 10 bucks at http://hetima.com/safari/stand-e.html

I suggest everybody who is using SafariStand do the same so the developer gets encouraged to finish the latest version and get all the functions back working in Lion.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next version and hope it will include the action menu since I've been using it a lot in the snow leopard version.

Lately I moved from Safari 5.0.2 to Safari 5.1.2. Since I really love SafariStand with its sidebar, I had to update to SafariStand5.1.182. But now, the sidebar does not work anymore.

Any idea how to fix this problem? Thanks!

I am on SnowLeopard 10.6.8.

I've always loved Stand, but noticed that after my last couple of Safari updates (I'm running 5.05 on 10.6.8 Intel i7 iMac) my Safari, always a memory hog went from hog to insane, quickly jumping to using 3 of my 4 gb of memory. Someone suggested taking out Stand, and while Safari still uses way too much memory, it now seems to be maxing out at about 1.5 gb. Any suggestions on how to use Stand and not turn Safari into a memory monster? Thanks!

Same here, History Flow is empty. Is there some incompatibility (with Safari upgrade or other plugins) or are we the only ones with this problem? Cover Flow works otherwise.

Config : MacBook 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 10.5.6 + Safari 3.2.1 + SafariStand 3.1L162
+ SafariTabs 0.6.2 (Tab undo support) and 1Password 2.11.1

Apparently there is a major conflict between SafariStand and 1Password leading to problematic displaying of the 1password browser extension button in Safari toolbar as multiple Windows reopen at launch (SS) leads to multiple 1Password button in the toolbar.
Deselect this option in SafariStand setting (Restore Method at Launch=Nothing) and let SafariTabs control this parameter (When Safari Launches = Automatically open saved Tabs) and you override that issue.

safaristand 4.0L168 seems not to work with google gears... I can't load gmail anymore if gears and safaristand are installed. I I deinstall gears or disable safaristand, it's working again.

Has anybody the same problem? Is there a getsatisfaction- or forum-like place to discuss this, as macupdate is not the best place for getting support on a software... ?

The problem relates to SafariSource, not to SafariStand

http://search.macupdate.com/info.php/id/16202/safarisource

Just remove SafariSource.bundle from /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/

I too am having the Flash plugin problems with this latest version of SafariStand even though I never used or installed Safari 4. The incompatibility happened out of the blue: am moving my stuff because I got a brand new iMac today and installed all the latest software I used on the iMac G5.

Reverting back to the previous version of SafariStand (3.1L162) solved the problem for me though.

Safari (3.2.1) won't load Flash correctly with SafariStand installed.
Videos display "Plugin - click to load." even with "Load plug-in Manually" and "Site Alteration" unchecked. This problem started after installing, and then subsequently uninstalling Safari 4 beta.
