While Keynote 2 might make this obsolete, there are still people who don't own iLife or who don't want to take the time to do the conversions that will use this program. However, they probably won't want to pay for it.

looks like keynote 2 (part of iwork) make this obsolete. You can export your keynote 2 presentation to jpgs. Then you add the jpgs to iphoto5 (part of ilife05) and you can add the pics to your ipod photo and have a lsideshow.
