US Academic Keyboard Layout is a complex keyboard layout based on the principles of U.S. Extended, but with a much larger scope. Via dead keys you may get almost all the characters defined as 'Latin', also Combining Diacritical Marks, IPA, various symbols and punctuation. This is an ideal tool for linguists, phoneticians, dialectologists and all those who currently or occasionally use a large set of Latin-based characters.
- Keyboard layout for editing linguistic and dialectal texts, radically revised according to Unicode 6.x additions and corrections.
- Mac OS X 10.2 or later
- For fully using the capabilities of Combining Diacritical Marks, large fonts like Alphabetum, Gentium or TITUS are required (also Lucida Grande is OK). Mail.app, TextEdit, Nisus Writer Express, Mellel etc. are typical applications to be used with this key layout.
