I am looking for something like this that will take stuff off the desktop every so often and put it into the Documents folder.

I am Sorry I can't remember anybody asking me about "srm" on this tool. It simply erases thats what I said about this app, and that's what it supposed to. Its not a security tool or anything.Who emailed me and asked me this?
Why don't you be faire and tell me in "the" email that my stuff is crap ! So I can make it better using one of your hints or suggestions!! Thank you!

I emailed the developer about the type of secure overwriting one of his utilities uses. He told me it uses srm (which securely overwrites files, as aposed to simply deleting them), when in fact all it does is use the rm tool (which does not over write a thing). I discovered this later after looking at the logs. This software is total crap.

What concerns me about these ster_____ programs is that they an update comes out every day. Is the developer trying to keep his product in the front of peoples eye by being on page one, or is the software that buggy. I've looked it some of them, and I won't be downloading any more. Daily updates for important utility functions - I don'[t trust the sterSoftware.

The digital equal to sweeping crap under a rug. It amazes me that someone wrote a program to keep from having to learn a bit of organization.

Why don't you just go back to manila folders and filing cabinets then? Helping to organize my stuff is what a computer is FOR. It doesn't matter where in the filesystem it's 'stored'.

I think the characterization "sweeping crap under a rug" is an accurate one. It isn't exactly a criticism of the program since that's what it is advertised to do. It doesn't claim to "help organize your stuff"
Personally, I am not above sweeping crap under a rug but I can't imagine why I would want someone to come in and do it for me every 10 seconds (or even every 15min).
Make a folder named "crap" or "under the rug". Whenever you need to clear your desktop in a hurry, select-all and drag to "under the rug".
