Show folder contents using hierarchical contextual menus. Folder Contents CM is a Mac OS X-compatible contextual menu plugin which allows users to access folder contents by control-clicking on that folder. The engine can also view the contents of the packages, including application packages. The contents are displayed on icon-decorated hierarchical menus where users can browse the folder contents to unlimited depth. Folder Contents CM has ability to handle disks, files, folders, aliases, symbolic links, and invisible objects as well as the properties of the objects.

For those that have been dissatisfied with this or similar products and the price, their is a new CM that has just been recently released. It is called "Folder Glance" and does the same thing as Folder Contents for free.

At least with Panther, "OpenMenuCM" is another much better alternative, does a lot more and is cheaper also.

I don't get it either, the developer never replies to threads like this. But as a recent reviewer said
Unsanity's fruit menu does the same thing and is only $10 plus does a whole lot more.

Why the developer keeps on with this CMM is bewildering as the difference between the 'Launch items' Browse Volumes Plug-in and the included move items Plug-in, and this CMM seem now so blurred that they have now a become a weird confusing mix up of products - all being tweaked continuously seems to have even confused the developer.

I don't get it. I understand that anything people think is cool is going to be popular, but this one I simply don't get. To me there is nothing here I don't already have elsewhere and better and for free.

I am still partial to using Default Folder in combination with "On My Command." While it is true that Default Folder is more money initially, you also get a lot more - i.e. enhance open and save navigation, including the ability to trash files in the dialog boxes. However when you start adding up the prices of Folder Contents with the other costs of the pieces of his other shareware products needed to complete the package that is part of what you get with "Default Folder/On My Command", such as, "Move Items, "Print Documents", "Make Symlink", and Launch Items, you actually save money. The free added pieces you need from "On My Command to do this are the "DFX Contents" in the library. and "Quick Access" from the same site as "On My Command" Both are available via MacUpdate.

I should also state that I do have a bias as I am the contributor of "DFX Contents" to the "On My Command" library. Other than that, I have no connection to any of the mentioned products.

unsanity's fruit menu is a haxie which brings back to life the old apple menu, plus does the same thing that folder contents CM. the best thing about this is both coast the same 10 bucks. fruit menu simply rocks.

I have downloaded it and made a few attempts. I have not yet used it long enough for making a general assessment, but from what I have seen at this point, it works well and offers a very convenient additional tool in order to make my Mac still more pleasant to use.

I could be mistaken but I believe that previous versions of this product have had mixed reviews and comments that no longer seem to be present with the release of this new version.
