OpenLaszlo is an open source platform for creating zero-install Web applications with the user interface capabilities of desktop client software.

OpenLaszlo programs are written in XML and JavaScript and transparently compiled to Flash and soon DHTML. The OpenLaszlo APIs provide animation, layout, data binding, server communication, and declarative UI. An OpenLaszlo application can be as short as a single source file, or factored into multiple files that define reusable classes and libraries.

OpenLaszlo is "write once, run everywhere". An OpenLaszlo application developed on one machine will run on all leading Web browsers on more...

I ran it under Rosetta on my MacBook. It ran okay, but at this point I don't think there is any excuse for apps not being universal binaries so I removed it and haven't come back since. When there is a universal binary then I will check it out again and more thoroughly.

OpenLaszlo is a Java application. There is no PPC code, and it takes full advantage of the Intel CPU due to the fact that OS X for Intel has Intel-native Java.

What do you mean it runs under "Rosetta". I only seen .jar (runs native on intel) and unix files (same). It runs within your browser. I could not find any .app items anywhere.

Please, help me to figure this one out. I don't want to say, as I infortunatly already did, that this "application" runs native on Intel if it doesn't. But so far I can't see any proof of the contrary.

Has anyone tried running this successfully on an Intel Mac? I find it strange that no mention of Intel compatibility (or plans for it) is made anywhere on the developer's site.

Any platform actually.

I haven't tried it but the fact that it advertises as PPC only kinda means it doesn't truly work on every platform.

It's very strange that PPC only apps are still being made today.

This thing is killer! Macromedia has to be freaking out considering this is a direct competitor to Flex, and its open source! Flex will bust your wallet.

For what it does, this app has a very strange name, but it is awesome in its implementation!
